Voting Question: Planning on next pregnancy, first one is a preterm.?

My son was born 26 weeks gestation due to placenta previa. After being in the NICU for 2 months, he was discharged. Now he is a healthy 4 year old. I want to have another baby now. Earlier, by chance, the ambulance people took me to the nearest hospital which turned out to be the one my regular obstetrician was affiliated with and had an absolutely wonderfully well equipped level III NICU. Now I've moved to a small town (Jackson, MI), there's only one hospital, with no NICU of any level and I'm not sure how I should I find high risk obstetricians. My insurance company lists 3 of them who are out in Lansing. I'm wondering if it'd be a good idea to have an obstetrician who is not close by. To my knowledge, the closest hospital with a good NICU is U of M, which is about 45 mins away from home. Please help.... Read More »
