Open Question: How do I find people who are into the same things as me?

I'm into a lot of indie music and the indie/boho/hipster/hippie/punk styles, but I have trouble finding other people who like the same things as me. I don't mind having friends that like different things than me, but it would be nice to be able to have a friend or two that's likes the same things as I do. The problem is, I go to a really small school and I'm not allowed to go to concerts or anything so I can't meet any new people.
